Services Designed For Banks & Holding Companies

RFG provides business and regulatory advice to banks, bank holding companies and foreign banks with operations in the US. The RFG Banking Team is composed of senior-level experts who have had decades of experience working both in financial institutions and in their regulatory authorities.

Team members have served as Deputy Superintendent of Banks for New York State, the General Counsel of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and as an officer and staff attorney of the Federal Reserve System. They have also served as General Counsels of major financial institutions, Treasurer of a major, money center bank and Chief Risk Officer of an international insurer.

Through our leadership roles in major institutions, which transcend various stages of the financial cycle, RFG has extensive experience addressing organizational changes and building organizational structure. Our team members have organized and participated in interdisciplinary, large-scale projects that required an appreciation for technical legal implications, an understanding of business issues and the need for clear communication among numerous areas, including areas focused on compliance, tax, capital calculations and transactions with affiliates. We are used to thinking throughout a banking infrastructure and have Reg W experience.

At the same time, we pride ourselves in our ability to make the complex approachable. We accomplish this through our unique focus on "knowledge management" which translates legal requirements into step-by-step action plans that minimize the organizational burden of operating in a complex regulatory environment. These action plans also ensure quality and consistency of results and business-partner understanding of key issues.
